Ambassador David Yung-lo Lin is the chairman of the Association of Foreign Relations (AFR) in Taiwan (R.O.C.), a non-partisan organization that focuses on global outreach and the promotion of Taiwan society's active engagement in international affairs in the efforts to promote peace and stability not only in the Asia-Pacific but also the world.
His career spans more than four decades in the foreign service of the Republic of China (R.O.C., Taiwan), during which he was appointed as the minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2016, and representative to the United Kingdom from 2016 to 2020. Before then, he also served as representative to the EU and Belgium, representative to Indonesia, vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassador to Grenada, and ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Amb. Lin earned two master’s degrees—an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and an M.A. in Commerce from National Chengchi University, where he also completed his undergraduate studies.
In 2016, Amb. Lin was awarded the Order of Brilliant Star in recognition of his long-term efforts to safeguard Taiwan's sovereignty and national dignity by then-President Ma Ying-jeou.
